The Liberty Action Council was born out of a health crisis — and the government overreach that came with it. 

When unconstitutional mandates and lockdowns swept across Ohio and the nation in 2020, it became undeniably clear that the freedom to make decisions about one's own body is one of the most fundamental liberties we possess. Health freedom — including the right to fully informed consent and the right to refuse medical interventions — is not a privilege granted by government. It is a God-given right that no elected official, agency, or executive order can lawfully take away.

At the Liberty Action Council, we believe that true health freedom begins with education. Too many citizens and even elected officials lack access to honest, thorough information about holistic health options, medical choice, and the rights they already hold under the law. When people are kept uninformed, they are far more vulnerable to government overreach and corporate influence in our healthcare system. Our mission is to change that — by bringing health freedom education directly to communities and to the legislators who represent them.

Understanding why health freedom is under threat requires an honest look at who is shaping health policy in this country. Big Pharma and big medicine wield enormous influence over our legislators through lobbying dollars and political contributions — and the people who suffer most are the very citizens those politicians were elected to serve. A striking example is the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986, which granted vaccine manufacturers sweeping immunity from liability for harm caused by their products. When an industry faces zero accountability for the damage it causes, the profit motive overtakes the duty to do no harm. This unchecked influence does not stay in Washington — it flows directly into Ohio's state house and shapes the health policies that affect every family in our state. Until citizens reclaim their voice and demand transparency and accountability, money and power will continue to drive decisions that belong in the hands of the people.

The experience of the COVID pandemic made one thing crystal clear: the fight for health freedom cannot be left to Washington. Under the 10th Amendment, the power belongs to the states and to the people — and that is precisely where we intend to exercise it. By organizing at the county and state level, the Liberty Action Council works to ensure that no governor, health department, or government body can strip Ohioans of their right to make free and informed choices about their own health and bodies. We are committed to introducing and supporting legislation that protects bodily autonomy, and to standing firmly in the way of any mandate that would violate it.
